Fresh Egg Donors

Frequently Asked Question for Egg Donors at ACFS

Is the egg donation process painful?

As part of the donation process, you'll take shots for approximately 10 days in your lower abdominal area. The injections can cause pain and bruising at the injection site during the 10 days. The egg retrieval will be done under anesthesia. Donors can experience some discomfort, bleeding and cramping afterwards.  Most donors are able to return to work or school the next day.

How much will I be compensated?

Egg donors are compensated $5,000 for each donation with ACFS.

Will donating impact my future fertility?

Currently, there is no research that concludes egg donation can impact your future fertility.  During the donation process, the doctor will retrieve eggs that your body would have discarded as part of your normal monthly cycle.

How many times can I donate my eggs?

As per the American Society for Reproductive Medicine's guidelines, you can donate a maximum of 6 times in your lifetime.
